Install a Minecraft modpack
Deploy CurseForge and Modrinth modpacks on your Latency Host Minecraft server.
Modpacks need more RAM than vanilla — see our RAM guide before ordering.
One-click install (CurseForge / Modrinth)
- Open Startup in Pterodactyl.
- Select CurseForge or Modrinth as the server type.
- Search for your modpack and click Install.
- Wait for the download to finish, then start the server.
The panel handles Forge or Fabric version matching automatically.
Manual upload
- Download the server files from CurseForge or Modrinth.
- Upload via SFTP (credentials on the Settings tab).
- Set the correct Java version in Startup (most 1.18+ packs need Java 17; 1.20.5+ often needs Java 21).
- Accept the EULA in
eula.txtif prompted.
RAM for modpacks
| Modpack size | Minimum RAM |
|---|---|
| Light (~50 mods) | 4–6 GB |
| Medium (~100 mods) | 8 GB |
| Heavy (200+ mods, large worlds) | 12–16 GB |
Troubleshooting
- Crash on start — check Java version and increase RAM.
- Missing mods — re-sync from the panel or re-upload the
mods/folder. - World corruption — restore from Backups before retrying.
